"Through
Space and Time the Ancient Sisterhood spoke to
me"
Monica's
Retrospective Exhibition, called "Through Space
and Time the Ancient Sisterhood spoke to me" was
held at the Hotbath
Gallery in Bath, U.K., from 28 January to 25 February 2004.
The Private View took place on Imbolc night, the
Celtic Seasonal Festival when the Goddess Brigit or
Bride is honoured.
Monica
was ill and crippled with secondary bone cancer, often
in severe pain and knew that she inevitably would pass
to the Otherworld, which she had so often visited in
her visions and dreams.
She
was deeply thankful to her friends Maggie Parks,
Sheila Brown, Jill Smith and Cheryl Straffon, who were
all involved in making it happen.
They all also did workshops and slide shows, including
Monica herself for this momentous event.
On
the next 49 pages of Text and Pictures from the
Catalogue of Monica's Retrospective Exhibition, we can
get a glimpse of this overview of Monica's inspired
and seemingly inexhaustible creativity. Reading the
comments on her images is the next best thing to
attending one of the slideshows she gave all round the
world, whilst talking about the images and her
life.
Every
page has a clickable picture and a link at the bottom,
which takes you to a larger size image in the Art
Gallery. Below the Image Title in the gallery, you'll
find a link back to the page in this Retrospective
Exhibition Section, so you can travel easily to and
fro if you like.
Use the small blue triangular links at the top right
hand of the page and the larger red ones at the bottom
help you move from through this exhibition:
